A rare 19th century Howard & Sons armchair standing on a gilded leg with original casters and down cushion. The chair has been reupholstered in howard ticking to a very high standard. Howard and Sons of Berners Street London were the foremost upholstery makers of the 19th century exhibiting at the Great Exhibition of 1851 and in exhibitions across America and France.
