19Th Century Terracotta Lion.

£750.00

A 19th century terracotta modelled Canova lion, this neoclassical sculpture is in the same form as the lions found at the tomb of Pope Clement XIII in St Peters Basilica Rome.

The lion is a very desirable size standing on a base, few historical chips and marks to the lion, the base has been broken and badly repaired with glue but strangely all his faults I think this adds to the charm and overall look of this magnificent beast.
