19Th Century Welsh Quilt.

19Th Century Welsh quilt circa 1860. This beautifully vibrant welsh quilt has been loving made most probably as a wedding gift in the traditional fashion with stitched patterns, the patterns often have meaning or relate to a family or areas of Wales. One side has a incredible vibrant red colour the other side is a beautiful green (with some sun damage) in between the two different coloured fabrics would be wool often gathered from the hedges and then hand sown patterns to keep the wool in place.

condition : The red side has retained the red colour incredibly well in fact one of the most vibrant red blankets we have ever seen, few very small darned hand stitched repairs, the green side has areas of sun damage but overall  incredible condition for its age.
