20Th Century Folk Art Waterloo Clock

£650.00

A wonderful early 20th century scratch built wooden clock. This rather eccentric clock which obviously has taken hundreds of man hours to construct, the attention to detail is quite astonishing ! The clock comprises of two majestic roaring lions at the base in the middle is Britannia and flanked each side is a vision of the battle of Waterloo with the French army on one-side and the English on the other. At the top of the clock are two flags one dated 1815 and the other 1915 with the word “Peace” inside a love hart with a crown above.

The clock is entirely made from wood which has been painted and gilded with a red silk panel on the back. The clock has been covered to a modern battery mechanism  in good working order.
