Early 19Th Century Campaign chest.

£2,400.00

A rare early 19th century (circa 1815) Anglo Indian Campaign chest of unusually small proportions. The campaign chest breaks down into two small sections, the top section has a secretaire drawer with fitted compartments and drawers,Made from either padauk or teak, standing on a very slender bracket foot, on each side are four metal carrying handles, on the front are eight brass skeletal campaign handles.

Condition : considering this is a real campaign chest from the early part of the 19th century and has obviously seen some action its in considerably good order one damaged brass skeletal handle and a few historical repairs and missing keys, with a wonderful colour and patina.
